 STUNT TRAINING

 

  Body

Our in house Stunt Training takes place year round twice a week, where we work on basic to advanced skills. Throughout the year we also hold specialized training seminars.

Tuesdays 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Saturdays 10:15 am to 12:15 pm
Fee $140 per month
(Not including Material Fees)
Personal Safety Equipment: Members are required to have all basic stunt gear, including - hard and soft elbow and knee pads, thin gloves, black athletic shoes, shin pads, spine protectors, etc.
Materials Fees: Members are responsible for purchasing any expendables they need during training. These materieals include - breakaway glass, box rigs, firearms, and ammunition, vehicle rental, bullet hit effects, etc. Members will be informed of any required materials at least 30 days in advance.

FALLS
Stunt performers must know how to take many kinds of falls. These include Low Falls (3’ to 30’), High Falls (30’ to 60’), Linear Falls (mini tramp, foot ramp, air ram), and Specialty Falls (stair falls, bulldogging, car ejections).

FIGHTS
Stunt performers must have a strong working knowledge of physical combat. These include European Fighting (two/three person fight scenes with medieval weaponry and mass battlefield fight sequences), Eastern Fighting (extended two person fight scenes involving dance-like elegance, acrobatics, and exotic weaponry), Western Fighting (barroom brawls, knife fights, and gun battles), and Modern Fighting (combined fighting styles, using improvised weaponry and modern firearms).

WIRE WORK
Stunt performers are often called upon to perform wire-assisted stunts. These include Flying and Aerial Maneuvers (levitation, acrobatics), Surfaces Drags (behind car or horse), Foot Snares / Body Suspension / Dead Stop (rope traps, hanging rig, leash lock), and Jerk Harness (wire motivated linear falls).

BREAKAWAYS AND ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION
In many scenes, Stunt performers have to interact with furniture and other random objects. These include Tables and Chairs (dinner tables, coffee tables, kitchen chairs, barstools), Glass (large windows, windshields, mirrors), Glassware (bottles, plates, mugs, vases, lamps), and Crates, Barrels and Sacks (breakable and non-breakable).

FIREARMS
Firearms are widely used by Stunt performers, so proper training and safety precautions are a must. Firearms training includes Revolvers (cylinder based weapons), Semi-automatic pistols (slide based weapons), Shotguns (single and multi barrel), and Automatic weapons (3 round burst and full auto).

PRECISION DRIVING
Stunt performers are expected to have a knowledge of a variety of vehicle related skills. These include Car/Truck Fundamentals (standard and automatic), Control Skills (slaloms and obstacles), Direction changes (90’s and 180’s), and Hard Stops (skids and power slides).

SPECIALTY STUNTS
There are many specialty stunts that every Stunt performer should have knowledge of. These include Partial Burns (limb, legs, or torso), Rappelling (various methods), Motorcycles (fundamentals), and Horse Work (fundamentals).
